CommUNIty

Respect and Appreciation

UZH has launched a new campaign to combat discrimination and foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and appreciation.

The CommUNIty campaign raises awareness on how all members of the UZH community – students, lecturers, professors, scientific, technical and administrative staff and guests alike – treat each other: with respect and tolerance – regardless of age, disability, sex, gender identity, skin color, origin, religion, sexual orientation, social and professional status or language.

The hub for the campaign is the new website community.uzh.ch, which offers information and acces to the many support centers and services available at UZH. The website also clearly sets out the kind of behavior that will not be tolerated – such as discrimination, racism, sexual harassment, bullying, abuse of power, and violence. It encourages people to address inappropriate behavior and if necessary seek help from a line manager or an advisory service.

In an interview with UZH News Deputy President Gabriele Siegert introduces the campaign and gives tips on resolving conflict.
